- :ST, but was more impressive. People chose the cool one and decided to spen ~20%
- :more.
-
- When C= sold a lot of Amigas, they were A500s. A500's competed with PC's
- and Mac's fairly favorably, especially in price. Atari ST's were
- relatively hard to find in the places I lived in when I bought my first 500 in
- 1987. Revisionist history? No. I bought my 500 for 2 reasons:

- (1) Price/Performance
- (2) Marble Madness
-
- :The "lowest possible price" strategy is a very dangeous one, and should be

- :(I.e. not "as good as a PC", but "you can't do this on any other chipset".

- How do you propose to beat out the chip companies that have found a very
- profitable niche making chipsets for other machines. They do it for a
- living and they make $. Commodore tried this and we got AGA. You think
- AT's going to do any better? The only thing AT had going for it is AmigaOS
- and even that's showing its age.
